Job Description
Job Title: Safety OfficerJob Summary:
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment by planning, implementing, and overseeing the company’s health and safety policies and procedures. This role involves monitoring workplace conditions, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect work sites and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.
- Organize safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety drills for staff.
- Investigate accidents or near-miss incidents, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and incident logs for audit and compliance purposes.
- Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and used correctly.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all safety certifications and documentation are up to date.
- Assist in developing and updating safety policies and emergency response plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a safety role (especially in construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors).
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation and best practices.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
